Capablanca
Capablanca OR Tal?
Capablancawas a better player at calculating, but he played very passively and usually drew. Tal on the other hand has constantly attacking and was a better attacker. They are both good in their own ways. I think if they were to play in a match, it would be a draw because Capablanca's great defensive play wouldn't let Tal launch an attack, so it would be a battle of positional play and strategy in which they are both equal.

According to chessgames.com profiles:
Capablanca
Number of games in database: 696
Years covered: 1893 to 1940
Overall record: +322 -46 =253 (72.2%)*
Tal
Number of games in database: 2,822
Years covered: 1949 to 1992
Highest rating achieved in database: 2645
Overall record: +1143 -311 =1320 (65.0%)*
Capa's drawing percentage was 36%, and Tal's was 47%. Maybe there are more Capablanca games out there than in that database, but the available evidence doesn't support the stereotypes. Tal drew more games than he won.
Capa was a wonderful attacker! He was equally excellent at calculation, but Tal had more spice IMO. I cannot vote for just one, I'd have to say both. If I had to, I'd say Capa.
who are they?????????????????????????????????
who are they??????????
i know only one GM VISHWANTAH ANAND
I love watching Tal's attacks, but Capa's style is what a chess player should aspire to be. I vote Capa.
One thing to consider is that Capablanca was a natural chess player, as opposed to the rigorous GM preparation that made Alekhine and later generations of GMs great. As far as raw talent, Capa was one of the very best. However, if by some magic he were to face Tal's generation or today's generation, he would either have to hit the books to study up or be on the second tier of GMs.
If you go by lifetime achievement instead of fantasy match, I would have to vote for Capablanca. Tal held the World Championship for one year, compared to Capa's six-year reign. In addition, even after Alekhine won the Championship, the consensus is that Capablanca merited a rematch, which he never got. Also, Tal was well known for playing unsound sacrifices (and joked about it himself), which makes his style a dangerous one to imitate.
Greek peoples used to created gods for every natural thing incompressible to them ; and they named the chess'god CAPABLANCA . What other reason do you need to know who is the best chess player all time.
Which player was better?
I vote Capablanca.
