Mike has done a lot for everybody on chess dot com
Sorry, I consider myself a very active member, and I've never heard of him before his nomination. He has not done a lot for everybody, although he has probably done a lot for the select few in his group, of which I'm not classy enough to be a member.
Look, Rooperi... I can sympathise with you, because I was definitely hoping LisaV would win this too! However, now I see the truth, how this whole election has been rigged! Anyone who says it's been rigged AGAINST LisaV is losing their mind! That's just the type of half-truth you try tell to make a lie stronger. The player with MORE VOTES is the one that should win in an ELECTION anything else is HYPOCRITICAL, SCANDALOUS, and DANGEROUS!
It takes courage for me to say this, but I am willing to say it loud and clear, because no matter who I've 'supported', what I want MOST is JUSTICE!
MIKE DOYLE is the TRUE winner of Chess Player of the Month August 2010!!!
And to be honest, he's done a lot more for me than LisaV had--remember that on a site like this you'll have thousands of people that you've never heard of...
Really, shouldn't we all want the same thing? The most VOTED-FOR candidate to be victorious??? If we want ANYTHING ELSE, we shouldn't PRETEND this is an election!
No, my friend, not so.
I certainly did not support Lisa, or anybody else.
My point, all along, was that people who the vast majority of regular users, who do not belong to these elitist groups have never heard of, get votes through the groups. These group members NEVER contribute in the forums, except to vote for whoever is suggested in their groups. The reason for this is that they are "too classy" to participate in the public forums (Atudor's words, not mine). Yet they manage to lower their own percieved high standards by condescending to manipulate these classless forums to acknowledge their choice, so that these same classless forums can award them a title.
If these groups want to acknowledge contributions, then it would be best to do this inside that group.
If members of the group come to these forums independantly and regularly, and cast a vote for atudor or mike doyle, that's fine and valid. If he never comes here, except for being informed of this vote through the group, it is campaigning, and invalid, in my opinion.
