IBM's stocks rose 50% after the victory. What would they ever want to do with a pesky chess computer?
Fischer and Deep Blue

They achieved their goal.
End of the story.
So you say yes the train of thought was the same?

IBM's stocks rose 50% after the victory. What would they ever want to do with a pesky chess computer?
Hide the fact that cheated?

IBM was interested in publicity, not chess. I guess this explains why no rematch but doesn't explain why they took the computer apart.
Did the programmers for Deep Blue have the same mindset as Fischer when they took the machine apart? Do you think they beat Kasparov and were afraid of losing in a rematch like Fischer was afraid of losing the title World Chess Champion?
