I am using Lucas. When i play with computer, i need to choose the engine it uses. And each engine has ELO score besides its name. For example: 1231 - Bikjump 2.01 (32-bit) (depth2).

That is fine, i love that.

BUT, i see another options: depth. I don't know the EOL 1231 is just happen when i set the depth is 2.

If i increase the depth to 5 or 6. How will EOL be ?

And another engine. It doesn't have the depth in their name. For example: cinnanmon 1930. So this EOL stick with which depth ?
And which depth should i set for computer ?

anyone can help me please ?

cohenn2

by eol do you mean elo??

cohenn2

also please do not use lucas. lucas for some reason intentionally depletes the engines skill for no reason. (by over 500 elo for stockfish)

what is EOL?

KieferSmith

Depth is how many moves forward the computer can calculate. Therefore, a higher depth will almost always mean the engine will play stronger.
