I'm not sure if I should stop playing chess forever, because I really like the game but I think I'm a stupid and bad player lately and lost almost all my games and although sometimes won many games and I think that the days I played well was be gone forever

I feel really bad now, remained at this site for over 2 years and I dont remember had a bad time in my game like these,

I am a stupid man know but when I lose a few games one after the other is really hard return and win just one game,

however when I'm win some games, I can play good chess games my question is  I should stop playing chess forever because I am a bad player?, my family for generations played this game and I think I'm the worst you can see my games to understand why I say this

thanks

hope that someone can answer me and give me a good opinion

Maybe you should try a longer time control or (gasp) even online chess.  I haven't looked at any of your 705 blitz games, but I would bet you are making the same mistakes over aand over again.  Blitz is for good players to show off their skills.  How did they get those skills?  By playing slow games and analyzing their games afterwards.   Sure Blitz is fun, addictive even, but as you have amply demonstrated playing only blitz makes it very difficult to improve.  Sorry about the rant, but that is my honest opinion.

Play for a love of the game not a love of winning.  If you get  to stuck on "oh man I have to win this game"  you will make single ply unelegant and obvious threats.  If you really do not like chess and are playing out of some family thing then by all means give it up.  But if you enjoy the game and truely love chess, then the second you forget about winning, you'll have just won.

if you do 15 tactics trainer puzzles a day i guarentee you will improve a Lot

I think I can see why after two years, you're still a novice. You seem to play only blitz, and just over three hours on the tactics trainer. I'm presuming that you don't study much, if at all.

Just playing blitz at such a low level isn't going to teach you anything, you're just condemning yourself to ploughing the same unsatisfying furrow, day in, day out.

You want to play better? then give the blitz a break.... read a chess book, join a club, take lessons, watch videos.... anything but playing the same rubbish moves, as quickly as you can.

I'm sorry the advice is so blunt.

yes i like the game but my point is when I losse one or two games is easy for me loss 10 or 20 games and is very difficult win just one game but when I win some games , I can win many games dont know if it psychological

Baddogno are onto something about Blitz. I consider myself an average chessplayer when playing 30 mins standard or Online Chess, but when playing blitz I do this stupid mistakes over and over again and after a while it start to affect my chess self esteem. I`m totally agree Blitz is ment for 1500+ players.

I blunder when stressed:(

If you still consider quiting, try to remember the feeling of a perfect checkmate. Thats the beauty of chess!

I think there may be a psychological element to this.  I also have experienced a couple of losing streaks where I lose about a dozen games one after the other, and also a few winning streaks.  Unfortunately, my winning streaks are shorter than my losing streaks.  All I can come up with is that perhaps losing several games in a row makes you think that you can't win, so you don't win.

I am 1800+ at online chess but only 1300 at blitz...overall I am by no stretch of the imagination a good chess player but I love playing the game; it is just easier for me to win when I can take my time. When I play a lot of blitz, I feel the same as you do when I lose...so I try not to play too much of it. I stick with what works for me ;) Perhaps you should try some slower games, give yourself some credit...you may win more games! With practice and study you can and will become a better chess player. If you can't give up the blitz (it can be addictive), at least take the time to go over your games and figure out what you are doing wrong. It helps if you have a stronger chess player to help you with this, but even running some of the games through Fritz or something ought to be of some help.

As to your original question, there is a reason no one has answered your question as to wether or not you should never play chess again...no one really can tell you that. Decide that for yourself. The advice in this thread on how to win more games seems spot on...lay off the blitz a little!! :P

Stevie65

Hey! how do you know?  have you been on face book?

SlobberinDonkey

No, you should just study tactics.

I guess the answers conserning whether you should keep on playing chess or quit is given, since you ask the question here at CHESS.COM. I think its pretty clearcut what we think of chess:P
