PLAYERS WHO USE QUEEN TO WIPE BOARD?

So lately I've been using my queen as a strong attacking tool. Moving it all around the board and taking piece after piece. This approach is quite new for me but I like it (of course, I can't do it in every game).

I'm just wondering.... Are there any chess players who use/used this method of attack? I'd like to study their games.

The queen is a strong attacker but because it is so powerful/valuable, you have to be very careful bringing it out too early to be a target of attack by lesser pieces.

In general, you're not as likely to see those kinds of attacks, except against lower level opponents. You have to use all your pieces in attacks, with the queen often making major contributions.

Obivously this tactic only works if your opponent is leaving pieces unprotected, so... just be aware moving forward into the future, when you'll probably be playing better opponents.

Yeah, a couple of my opponents didn't protect their pieces properly. I was basically checking with my queen, taking a piece, checking again, taking again. I'll make sure not to expose my queen so much when I face players with much higher ratings than myself.

Yeah.As soon as you go up against an opponent who knows how to intimidate your queen for being out and about like that, you're going to be screwed.

It's probably better to not rely on such things if you want to improve your game.

bruppa

I don't rely on it. I just thought it was cool.

Working on my openings at the moment.

i believe in playing whatever works for you, until your opponents are good enough to make it not work anymore... then you should be honest with yourself and stop playing it.

pretty sure a queen raid should be very effective at op's level

You also asked about players that use that method. For the most part, you are going to see stuff like that only in lower rated player games. Those aren't necessarily the games you want to be looking at for study (short of looking for the tactics).

Though, I think Nakamura used to use the Parham Attack in blitz (maybe bullet?).

Use your queen early, lose your queen early.

I know I get a big ol' smile when I see my opponent sticking his queen out early.

bruppa

Bringing the queen out early and moving it around has worked for me, so I've got no complaints. But I'll be more wary of doing it as I get a better understanding of the game however.

It depends on opening you choose. Lets say you play Bishop opening in that I have seen queen comes out early and look for initiative and attack.
