GZA is a much better rapper and chessplayer. I'd call him out instead.
Rza Wu-Tang -- I'm calling him out.

Not only did he play weaker players, but two of those games his opponent resigned in even positions in the opening.
You have proof of this?
That is a strong tone to take with one of the greatest producers of our generation. Every once in a while your words ( or pictures ) can come back to bite ya. ;) isnt that right xD!!!

Rza....
Rza......
Oh, Rza.... where are you?
Rza......
Come out and play...
Rza...
RZAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

9 months later and you still haven't played any more games here. I thought you might have been training against some real opposition and could now make a claim to be a real player.
// I thought you might enjoy this story about how somebody learned the game just last year (just like you) and got to play a couple of games with GZA last summer:
I Played Chess with GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan

9 months later and you still haven't played any real opposition. Who's the poser here?
//Why don't you enjoy this story about how somebody learned the game just last year (just like you) and got to play a couple of games with GZA:
I Played Chess with GZA of the Wu-Tang ClanI play plenty of people of "real opposition". I just don't play them here on chess.com because IMHO there are better places to play, like my local chess club or other websites that will go unnamed.
No one has presented any evidence that Rza or any of those Wu-Tang can play worth a turd.

He's not the one seeking the match. You're the one seeking the match and you are the one who has to somehow prove 1) that RZA won't just be wasting his time and/or 2) offer him some reason to waste his time with you. The journalist in that article was able to get a chance to do precisely what you want.
If you want anybody here to back you up, you have to make a lot more effort. Maybe they have your back on one of those other "other websites that will go unnamed".
But here, it doesn't seem like you've done anything at all since coming in here last fall.

Rza is making himself out to be some sort of chess master. He has adopted it as part of his image and part of what makes him famous. He should at least have some games published, or a rating, or anything that any common school child chess player has. He has none of that. I'm not the one getting rich off of claiming to be a chess master, I don't have to prove anything to anyone, he does.
I haven't done anything here in months, you're right, I was just checking back to see if that had re-made the website like that were talking about but it looks like nothing at all has changed.
VICE is hardly journalism, and taking on a complete newbie proves nothing about Gza's chess skill. But I'm not interested in Gza in the first place, I'm calling out Rza.
Rza doesn't even have to play me, just pubish some of his score sheets, play in a rated tournament, anything that every other chess player does. He's a poser.

rza gza and masta killa have all been playing chess for a long time. and anything that wu tang does, they take it to the furthest levels they can.. it wouldnt surprise me if rza becomes a grandmaster
Hey man. Came across this. RZA plays the NYT Chess writer, with game replay shown. http://gambit.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/06/06/playing-chess-with-rza/

You sound like a patzer with all that trash talking. Rza probably has a slightly better score than you do seeing how he gets lessons from Masters; I'd actually put 200.00 that Rza would make you eat your words if you two played. Don't under estimate someone especially if you do not know them or never played them before.
It's been a while since anybody replied to this thread.
Here is my problem with the initial post.
This is a man youngsters look up to. His tweets and social media reach far exceeds that of the greatest GMs.
If he can inspire even just a few to sit down at a board and learn to play I highly commend his attempts and efforts.
He cant be in it for the money... WU Tang earns more than being a mid level tournament player.
Calling him out and wanting to beat him shows your own insecurity.
I myself am a martial artist and Kickboxing champion. Do I want to beat the shit out of action movie stars? No.
They inspire a younger generation to learn how to throw punches.
But unlike this poster I am not an insecure baby.

Yeah... hes a rapper/producer. Hes helping chess if anything. Its pretentious players that discourage aspiring players if anything. Totally agree with @emorytatelives. Although, I bet Schwarzenegger is a no talent poser and you should fight that 70 year old actor lol. Fun fact:wu tang started as a chess club, and makes 90%of their royalties off of RZAs games lol
Dumb and dumber.
