I cannot pick just one. Keres's games motivated me to play and improve and are things of beauty. Karpov impresses me the most of all. And although he was never a GM, Mike Basman was utterly inspirational; teaching us to plough our own furrow and be creatively true to ourselves come what may. If you put me on the rack and forced me to pick just one of the three...I'd go with Tolya by a whisker.
