In bulldog chess we only start with (major) pieces on the first rank (and pawns on second rank).
Is the blockade able to get moved in any way? And why would you want a piece that prevents you from putting pieces on squares, but not affect your opponent?
The zombie is a very useful piece you want in your army. This is very different.
My piece is called the blockade. Whenever the blockade comes within a guard's move of any other piece of its own colour, it pushes it one square away from it. I imagine they would start on e4 and f5 or f4 and e5. You are not allowed to move your pieces a guard's move away from the blockade.
And yes, I get that this is like the Zombie. Once again, feel free to criticize this idea as much as possible.
