Just when I think I'm beginning to understand this variant a little better, I see a game like this. Then I realize I am a noob at best.
This was a complex game with deep traps set. Just when a way out appeared, that solution had another trap lying in wait. I just exhausted my time and had to move without a completely tested plan. In our match resigning prior to move 30 is not permitted.
I don't see this game on the game archive at TricesChess.com does anyone know where it is?

I finally beat him with a solo smothered Archbishop checkmate.
Does it count as a 'solo' mate when another piece is also denying access to a king's flight square? The chancellor keeps the king off of i8 also.

That's a great question. I would generally say no, though.

I can't access gothicchess dot info. Is the site definitely down? Does anyone have the scores of the games, published there? I'm interested in the game between Fischer and Olafsson played on the 28th of May 2006.
