Regarding that knight sac earlier. What was the plan after 40.Gxh2 gxh2 41.Qxi5?
I think 40... Rxf3 is the plan, patzer will have to clarify but certainly if I simply play 40. Qxi5 then I'm in big trouble after Rxf3, though I can't remember precisely what stopped me playing 40. Gxh2 before picking up the knight, but I definitely took a look at that too. I'll need to take another look.
gg. Missing Rxd7 early on was rather upsetting, but I feel like I mitigated that well. Missing Gxg3 killed me though
I agree Gxg3 was a major turning point, when I analysed 42... Nj5 I let out a huge sigh of relief. Up until this point, I think I was still better, but the position was very sharp and I was having to tread very carefully. I had plans and thought I was eventually winning both your central pawns, but you had tactics available that meant I had to walk through a minefield.
I'll wait for Vick to post the checkmate board before posting boards from earlier.
