The 'Bulldog chess ratings' topic is the place where Bulldog ratings are published.
The 'Bulldog chess ratings' topic is not the place to
1. announce your vacation (you must do that in your games)
2. call time warnings or discuss time warnings in particular games
3. anything else that is relevant to a particular game
You cannot expect from your opponent, or moderator, that they keep track of things everywhere in the Bulldog forum or on the internet.
Go to your game thread and do these things there.
Within the Federation all members agree upon this. In the case of @Chessisfunforme the results stand.
I understand the frustration, and it sucks to lose like this over Christmas, but it's hard to argue with that post of evert's. There's only only solution that works... declaring vacation on every game. I failed to do this and got lucky... I was not called on it on the one game I missed. Had I timed out, I would be annoyed, but I would accept it because it would have been my fault.
I think you just have to take this on the chin and learn a harsh lesson.
