Chess Battle Royale

More of a joke game-mode suggestion. 100 players are "dropped" onto a ? by ? board with 5 rows/columns between each player. Each player has a 5x5 grid of pieces (the edge players would need a diff setup though since their pawns would be blocked in?). The way the "turn order" works is you can make a move like every 10 seconds or something. Also maybe you'd need a way to get more pieces so if you eliminate someone you get their pieces or maybe you get to put some new pieces down near your king. Since it would become really confusing with such a big board in the end game, the board should shrink over time. There could be a few concepts that could be used either: when someone gets eliminated their "starting block" gets removed after a minute or so, or the board begins to shrink from the edges, or random parts of the board could start disappearing.
I think the concept would only be fun for a tournament or something since it seems like there wouldn't be as much strategy.
