Chess on a really long board

Rules: This is a variant that I created. The rules are very similar to regular chess, except a player wins by checkmating either king. A king can only castle on his side of the board. For example, the king on m1 can only castle with the rook on i1. I believe this is an original variant since the pieces start on ranks, not files. 

Participation: First two players who sign-up get to play. Signing up is as simple as saying "sign-up" or "join."

In this position, the ranks go from 1-8 and the files go from a-z

No, the notation for ranks and files are the same, you are just reversing the names.
