Woah, interesting story, wonder who thought it out. I'm not very creative so..... Definitely not me
Log of testing my fairy peices and variants i guess

I like the pope. fyi: Mister_McChess and I discussed its starting placement. We put it next to the king and queen "royalty" so it pushes out all the minor pieces (bishop, knight, rook). That by itself makes game development interesting!

How about 12*12 game with 8 prawnies, 4 prawnies that can also move 1 square sideways, 3horsies, 3 castles, 2 queenies, 2 bishies,1 pope, and 1king. Prawnies can move up to 3 squares forward , and can move 2 if it had moved one, and enpassant and castling still exist, and everyone has to sing a song about how great horsies are at the beginning and end of the game. If they don't, they forfeit the game.
The first piece that I created was the pope. Can Move Like a Bishop + King.

Okay, this is just a log about my pieces, if you don't care about variants or something, you can ignore it.
Thinking about developing variations of the elephant...
