Rd7 loses by force after
... Rd7
Rxd7 Bxd7
c5 with c6 and on the way and we are lost
How about we get to work and try to win instead of going for the draw!
That's funny!
We're about to have our pawns split apart on the left, lose a pawn overall, and all the while Martin will continue to hold sway from ease of mobility by his perfectly placed pieces.
I vote Kb8.
It's our best move.
We'll lose a pawn, maybe trade down one Rook from each side, but then, "first light, Chief, sharks come cruisin'."
just some encouragment, about all I can do right now ![]()
I'm hoping that by playing Kb8, and not Kc8, Martin may be emboldened, and not play the immediate Qxf7, try bringing down the rook, and not capturing our rook, maybe post up on d6, and maybe get tripped up. Not likely, but we have to tempt him. I've played many games and puzzles where the move I knew I should have done, I decided differently at the last second, and rued the day.
Hey I'm back... but it seems like the position is already very dangerous.
Regardless I'll try to help out.
Since most people have gone for Kc8, I vote Kc8 then.
ry, Martin's going to think you're poking him in the eye with a stick wrt the King/Queen Event.
Your post should have been Qb8.
(maybe you can quickly change it with an unannounced Edit; swab a Q for the K)

By the time we get to R/Bxg2, we've lost all three of our left flank's pawns.
Then we try what? Suicide?
Idea One: … Bxg2+, Bxg2 Rxg2, Kxg2 Qg5+, K 3rd rank or…
Idea Two: … Rxg2, Bxg2 Bxg2+, Kxg2 Qg5+, K 3rd rank
We cannot check the King at this moment, no perpetual check, so we take the Rook on c1.
We are down 2 pawns, our Queen is out of the picture for now and the move is Martin's…
"Japanese submarine slammed two torpedoes into our side, Chief.
We's comin' back from the island of Tinian De Lady,
just delivered the Bomb, the Hiroshima Bomb.
Eleven hundred men went into the water,
vessel went down in twelve minutes.
Didn't see the first shark for about a half an hour,
Tiger, thirteen footer.
You know how you know that when you're in the water, Chief?
You tell by lookin' from the dorsal to the tail.
But we didn't know… 'cause our bomb mission had been so secret…
No distress signal had been sent!"
I mean Martin will probably have a good time reading through this thread after the game is over and he'll realize that we completely ignored the K-Q swap event
Current Position (Black to Move)
This may very well be the best line forward.
There is the line that JARP suggested, but losing all the pawns seems too abhorrent.
"They didn't even list us overdue for a week.
Very first light, Chief, sharks come cruisin'.
So we formed ourselves into tight groups.
Y'know it's, kinda like old-squares in a battle,
like'h you'd see in a calendar, like the Battle of Waterloo."
The reason the Rook must be captured with the Queen (King) is because capturing with our Rook results in us losing two pawns on our left flank. Our Rook staying in position forces the Queen up and out by our Queen because the Rook guards the h pawn from White Bishop poaching.
Current Position (Black to Move)
This is our only move.
“And the idea was,
… shark comes to the nearest man/them
and he starts poundin’ an’ hollerin’ an’ screamin’
an’ sometimes the shark go away…
And sometimes he wouldn’t go away…
Sometimes that shark he looks right into yuh,
… right into your eyes…
You know the thing about a shark, he’s got…
… lifeless eyes as a black eye, like a doll’s eye."
Ok Bd7 might lose I guess I vote Kb8
