Mega Dog Tournament - Round 1 - felnix vs captaintugwash

Here's a link to a game where vic outlines the witch and guard, and castling rules...

Please ask if you need more info regarding the rules. Game starts when you make your first move, the game must start by the 28th June so you have plenty of time if you're not ready to start yet.. Time controls are 3 days per move, if your time expires you'll get a time warning, giving you 24 hours to make a move. Maximum 3 time warnings each per game, and we both have 7 days of vacation time for holidays, emergencies and rest. If  you run out of time, and your three time warnings have been used, and you have no vacation time left, then game is lost by timeout. Of course that applies to me too. If I take over three days, please post "time warning" to activate a 24 hour clock. Any questions, please ask.

If you intend to use vacation time, it will start  automatically, you do not need to say you'll be away, but it's polite to do so and will avoid you using up a time warning.

felnix - 0 time warnings remaining, 2 days vacation remaining

captaintugwash - 3 time warnings remaining, 7 days vacation remaining

(please check this post for updates regarding these figures, I will edit this post as the game develops)

Illegal move, pawn is pinned.

- Wg7 means f7 pawn is transparent to black, so the queen pins the f4 pawn to the king.

The witch is transparent too, that's a blunder that dumps the queen. I can play QxQ. I'm prepared to let you make another move, but please familiarise yourself with how the witch operates as you'll get no more take-backs.

FYI

Witch (W) - The witch is transparent to friendly pieces, and she also makes all adjacent pieces (friend and foe) transparent to friendly pieces (but pieces are not transparent for the witch). The witch does not capture other pieces, but she can be captured. Although pieces are not transparent to the witch, she is very agile; she combines the movement of queen, knight, and can jump orthogonally and diagonally two squares. Transparency of a piece means that other pieces can move, attack, and capture right through the piece.

Google translation (apologies if this is not accurate)

You're probably not much over 24 hours from your first time warning. Better to save them for later.

This board editor is so much nicer to use than Musketeer.
