Space acting like a brick on my custom position?

Hey, so I've been working on a Gothic/Seirawan-style variant, with more minor pieces to balance out the Chancellor and Archbishop. This particular setup isn't final (I find the row in front of the pawns gets too crowded), but I've been having a peculiar problem. For some reason I don't know, it seems the white space indicated in the screenshots (e8, I think) isn't accessible at all. It acts like a brick, not allowing pieces to move into or through it.

Has anyone experienced something like this before, or know how to fix it?

why is board so big

It's a custom position. You can make boards up to 14 squares per side, in the custom board editor in 4 Player & Variants.
