Very nice effort.

I have always considered that to be one of the main obstacles with the oriental games: Chinese + Korean + Japanese.

Western players are reluctant to learn oriental script and are used to shapes and images for virtual play.

Nice clean design, good job.

I am very surprised that you were not kicked out of r/chess.

For years there was one specific moderator who always kicked me out of that forum.

Anything that was variant related was always kicked out with the exception of when Lichess introduced Crazyhouse, there are a lot of Lichess fanboys that use that forum.

If you are going to have rules then you should be consistent in the application of those rules.

I always used to get a snobby message: "This subreddit is reserved for classical chess only..."

I do not use reddit now and in the main avoid public forums, I can sense when the real intentions of certain types of individuals is not pure.

Maybe because there's a subreddit for chess variants? r/chessvariants

I'm guessing my topic was allowed to keep going because I specifically wanted the opinion of chess players. People who play chess variants is a different audience. That said, I wasn't quite sure if I could do the same thing on this forum, because it's still technically one "community," although obviously this subforum is much smaller.

I was a bit hesitant about the characters in the beginning but after few days I had no trouble recognizing them
