Yes, do you want me to remove you from the tournament?
Isn’t the best spot for me, considering that Bdf is a decent player and I play Martin0 in the third round 😨
You're automatically assuming Martin wins against me?😰
I didn’t mean to give up hope on you, but...
This tournament has the problem that it's open to everyone, and so it has both strong players matched with more junior or untested players. It might not be fun for either side (expert/amateur).
The only way to resolve this is I can break this into two tournaments. The stronger players will be in the Mega-dog Pro
. The intermediate or untested players will be in the
Mega-dog Sport
.
Hoping to get some comments (support/oppose). Let me know.
Two separate tournament can be seeded like this:
Mega-dog Pro (round-1)
[[Game-1]]: Bad_Dobby_Fischer (white) vs. Martin0 (black)
[[Game-2]]: evert823 (white) vs. HolographWars (black)
[[Game-3]]: open1 (white) vs. open2 (black)
[[Game-4]]: thegreatauk (white) vs. rychessmaster1 (black)
Mega-dog Sport (round-1)
[[Game-1]]: krusefamily (white) vs. vickalan (black)
[[Game-2]]: raisingsun (white) vs. MathsMaths0 (black)
[[Game-3]]: open1 (white) vs. open2 (black)
[[Game-4]]: felnix (white) vs. Critica7 (black)
Comments?😐
I would like a Swiss format. Not necessarily for this tournament but in parallel to this. But experience learns that everybody silently walks out over time. The mamadog tournament went like that.
The problem with a wide-open tournament is that it pairs the very strong against new/untested. New players will feel dispirited, and the strong ones will feel round-1 games are pointless.
I'm definitely going to break this into two tournaments (such as post 89) but I can make changes, especially if more players enter. Btw, where's McGoohan?
Am I playing the easiest player? if so then the pairings are great!
I don't think I'm the easiest (worst) but I'm far from the best. But I think everyone in the "Sport" division are intermediate, beginner, or new. If we can find one or two others, I can modify the bracket so that you'll play a "new" first. I'll wait a little to see if anyone else joins.
I've played evert so many times in the past. (and won so many times)
Auk has also recently played Ry. Is this better (switching evert and auk)?
