This test game was better but it still feels too slow.

The deployment mechanism works but the deployment process takes too long.

 

So how do you speed things up without breaking everything?

 

A unit could not be deployed in front of a slow pawn on a side board but now it can with a twist.

First you deploy the unit and then as part of the same move the slow pawn jumps over the unit and lands in front of the unit.

The above diagram shows the first part of the move, the Bishop is deployed to f1.

The diagram below shows the second part of the move, the slow Pawn is deployed to f2.

 

Note that you could also say play a2 without deploying a unit to a1 but then you basically lose a tempo because no unit was deployed.

The square in front of the unit that was deployed must be empty.

The slow pawn must always jump over the unit, it is not optional.
