I dont know the name of the piece but it can move like both a knight and a rook
The Lion (as in Metamachy): can go everywhere in a 5x5. Lion=KAND (King-Alfil-kNight-Dabbaba). Simple, slightly less strong than the Queen, very efficient in end game to mate without assistance.
Hard to make a decision. There are so many wonderful pieces. Chancellor, Archbishop, Knight, King's Knight, Elephant...
the king! if you loose it its over.

The Lion is a very nice piece. My favorites are : The Hawk and the Archbishop.
