What piece is on g8
Board Painter to edit Diagrams for Chess Variants is available open source

I noticed that your convention for the go board coordinates is incorrect. The lettering from left to right is fine, for western notation. But, in any case, numbers should increase from top to bottom.
I like that this can be used on a phone. Tried to see if if there were pieces that would work for chu shogi.Had to make a few odd substitutions. Short a deer, a boar, and a whale. Overall thumbs up.

Funny thing is that go doesn't have a universally recognized coordinate system, since most game records are taken by numbering points on the board as they are played (from 1-XXX). Moves are normally described verbally in relation to previous moves. Looked into it out of curiosity. Apparently some people do use 19 from the top. Considerations:
- Of all the western styles of notation, the letter "i" is left out by most people.
- Letters are normally capitalized in western notation.
- Eastern notation is just the numbers, starting from 1 in the upper left. Normally both ways of representing numbers.
I think the most inoffensive solution is to start from 1 in the upper left for both directions, but not using Chinese characters.
Can you make painting the pieces? I want to draw Chaturanga, but I havent got 4 colours of the pieces.

I have purchased many musketeer chess pieces
(Leopard, Cannon, Archbishop, Spider, Chancellor, Unicorn, Fortress, Dragon)
and the 10 x 10 and 12 x 12 chessboards.
Your chess and chess variant painting tools are unequaled.
I enjoy using them for chess diagrams and art.
All of the above materials are indispensable in playing and developing chess variants.
Do you have a checkers and checkers variant painting tool?
Would you please provide links for all the painting tool sites that you have?
Thanks for everything! Great job!
I can send you vector files of the guard if you would like to add them to board painter. If the guard is added, I might use the board painter to play a complete game and see how it goes. (svg files do not display directly on this forum, but this is what they look like when converted to png):
