its like they should promote
Bull Dog chess (game)

placing pawns on the first rank looks strange to me.
Yes, I agree it looks a little strange. But to make a 10x8 chessboard with fewer pieces (a game I hope to play) I either need to pull some pawns back or there will be some holes in the formation. I think the whole formation looks like an army well prepared to have a battle!
And it does look a little like they should promote but they are completely on the wrong side to do that. They need to go the farthest - 6 moves rather than 5 for the others (assuming a 2 square jump at the start). But with 10 pawns on the board, and not a lot of powerful pieces to hoover them up, I bet there would often be a chance at least one or more can promote.
Well, I'll keep thinking about that board setup. (if anyone wants to play it let me know).

ill play
Yey! I'll call this game "Bulldog Legacy" because a game with just a little less power (compared to classical chess) is what I hoped for when Bulldog was first played. But guards are worth more than I thought, so the game had about the same average power as chess. Now with two files only having a pawn - this might go back to the original idea of Bulldog chess.
I started a thread for our game (here). You can play white. I'll see you there.

I also see you'll play evertVB in a game. I hope you have time for two games (It's just about one move per day for each game). If you can't play both games just let me know and maybe someone else can play here. Good luck!

Are you guys playing against each other? Or does someone want to go to the new thread I set up (here) to start a new game with diagrams. I already wrote comments the game is for bowlinggreen, but I need a move from white.
But if you guys want to play against each other that's OK too.
Please go to the new thread I set up and let me know what you'd like to do

Go to the end of this thread, and mention what game you'd like to play. These games use custom graphics, so either you or your opponent will need to use a graphical editing program to display board updates.
