Chess 960 bugs

Sort:
Solidous

While playing my first game of chess 960 some interesting things happened.  First off, after my opponents 15th move a second king appeared on my back rank, I couldn't move it and I couldn't move any pieces onto the square it was occupying.  Then after my 25th move or so i hit submit move and the screen refreshed like it normally does and then the position from before i moved appeared accept i couldn't move anymore.  So i sent a draw request which was accepted and now the game is still in the section of my games in progress and when i click on it it just says game drawn by agreement!!??

I was using the analysis board to analyse a line of play... and I rejected the line because that bug (a 2nd king appearing on my back rank when my first king was put in check) came up and I didn't want my game to freeze or go through the problems listed above.

Just putting it out there -- the bug still abounds, even on the analysis board.

thank you! there are so many possible scenarios - some missed testing. i'll have this addressed ASAP!

There is also a bug where if you place your cursor over a link of a game to have a small image of the current position of the game, when my opponent castled, the rook that helped castle was missing. When I checked them after they castled with a bishop, the picture then showed the king getting out of the check taking the missing rooks place even though my opponent never made a move and resigned.

Noticed a bug while using the analysis board. I was considering 0-0-0, but there was a minor piece between the rook and king, so castling wasn't legal (yes, I had the legal moves box checked). After 0-0-0, the minor piece disappeared because it was on the same square as the castled rook (d1).

Not sure if it was just a bug in the analysis board, and not in the actual game, but I didn't want to press my luck and hit the submit button and accidently be down a piece. :(

Another bug -- my game is on move #30 and when I hit conditional moves to set a few, the screen showed the game in an earlier configuration, like maybe around move #13...so I am unable to set conditional moves at all.

I thought games weren't rated if they had under five moves, but I got a Chess 960 rating boost for a game where my opponent resigned on the second move.

That changed a while back. Now if each opponent makes a move, the game is on and "abort" is no longer an option; reisignation will then lose points.

You'll get a rating adjustment if it's a tournament game for a rated tournament.

ATTN: Chess.com Staff:

I discovered a big, bad, nasty bug today while trying to showcase a game in my group's forum. Castling does not appear in the game creator at all. For example, this was a recent game of mine that included castling:

[FEN - nbqrbknr/pppppppp/8/8/8/8/PPPPPPPP/NBQRBKNR w KQkq - 0 1]

1.d4 c5 2.dxc5 Qxc5 3.Nb3 Qh5 4.c4 Rc8 5.Bc3 Nb6 6.Nd2 d6 7.b3 Bc6 8.e4 Nf6 9.Re1 Qg6 10.Ngf3 e5 11.Nh4 Qg4 12.Nf5 Nh5 13.Ne3 Qg6 14.Nd5 Re8 15.Qd1 Kg8 16.Re3 Nf4 17.Rg3 Qe6 18.Nxf4 exf4 19.Rxg7+ Kf8 20.Qh5 h6 21.Nf3 Ke7 22.Qh4+ Kd7 23.Qxf4 Rhf8 24.Nd4 Qe7 25.O-O d5 26.Qg4+ Kd8 27.exd5 Bd7 28.Ne6+ Bxe6 29.dxe6 Qc7 30.Bf6+ Re7 31.Rd1+ Ke8 32.exf7+ Rfxf7 33.Rg8+ Rf8 34.Bg6+ 1-0

I imported this PGN file and move 25 was omitted for white and black! Further analysis showed that when I manually re-created the game castling was not permitted at move 25!

Help us please?!
