I would say the hunter and witch are each about a rook, would you agree?

Since this game is rated, I won't share my tactical or strategical considerations with you or anyone else before I've crushed you.

I've sent vickalan a PM asking him if the Hunter is allowed to jump while capturing. The current rule description doesn't explicitly mention if he can or can't.

evert823

Actually we should pause this game till we have an answer, what do you think?

evert823

I have the confirmation from HorribleTimato, and pls find here the proper rule description for the Hunter:

The Hunter moves as a King when he does not capture.
But when he does capture, he moves like a Knight or orthogonally exactly two squares. While doing so, the Hunter is allowed to jump.

Tomato and I have been playing with the hunter. It's a good piece and the game has been fun.

After evert823 had a question, I think this is probably a better description:

Hunter (H) - The hunter moves as a king when it does not capture. However it captures like a knight or two squares orthogonally as shown in the following diagram.

You might want to add the word jump in the description as well.

evert823

Pieces aren’t transparent for the witch, that is correct, but also the Witch can jump over max one occupied square diagonally or orthogonally.
