Could you please tell me if there is a way to choose how we want the pieces to be in Chess960?  Surprised

I can't exactly tell if this question has been answered, (if you had written in French, maybe, but not Greek), but here's a simple way that doesn't require anything exotic.  You will need one die.

First, place the white bishop.  There are four possible squares.  Roll the die, reroll a 5 or 6.  Count the white squares starting at the left with one.  Place the bishop on the indicated square.  Repeat for the black bishop.

Now, place the queen.  There are six squares, so roll the die and start from the left, skipping over the squares with bishops on them.

There are now five squares available for the first knight, and there will be four for the second knight.  Roll once for each knight, rerolling illegal values.

There will be three squares left.  The king goes in the middle square.  The rooks go on either side.

This will give one of the 960 positions, with equal probability.
