They don't have almost any support for variants on mobile. Try a more specific website for variants: https://www.pychess.org/

I was wondering if someone could help me fix this problem....I was playing against the last intermediate bot and I happened to checkmate his as you see here, but when I go back on to his AI it says that I only beat him on one star. I have no idea what is wrong with the ai but I think his ai bugged out and isn't showing up the stars.

Is there a castling bug?   I'm finding my ability to castle is inconsistent when the king is next to the rook.  Neither piece is under attack.

I play a lot 960 here and don't experience any bug. There can be some misunderstanding so can you post the position in which you experienced this?

thanks -- here's the position.  I'm white and tried moving the king left one square but it was rejected.  The square is not under attack.

That's because your Rook is supposed to end on d1 and your Bishop is occupying d1.

@djconnel

Kingside and Queenside castling stands in Chess960.

The pieces need to end up on the same squares that they would after castling in a standard chess game, so in this case your king will stay on c1, and your rook needs to jump to d1.

At the moment your castling attempt isn't working because of the bishop on d1. If you desperately want to castle that way you need to develop first, for example:

The king lands on c1, as always in queenside castling, and the rook jumps to d1.

Lets say black wanted to gigachad castle kingside, play might continue:

All the squares that the king (and rook) needed to travel across were free, black's king didn't move through check, and notice it says 0-0 in the notation, as with normal kingside castling.

In 960, the kingside is not necessarily the side that the king starts on, or the side that the king starts on relative to the queen. It is the side of the board with the h-file on it. Likewise, the queenside is the side with the a-file.
