1.  If it's common for "name" to be used in lieu of "word"...rather than just that people often forget and paraphrase, then I'm sorry.  I learned otherwise and I have now been corrected.

2.  dost is used with thou...since I wasn't talking about her, I consciously changed it from doth to dost.

Yes but the thread title was embarrassment and frustration so it kind of fit in.

especially in an attempt to make others look bad (and in this case when those others happen to be a tiny bit more informed than you)

Fine sentiments indeed, however I fear that ilikeflags has settled in for the long haul. Pesky English teachers, always looking for an audience.

Normal chess setup allows for mate in 3. Obviously if you think at all, it won't happen.
