You have to play it in a game 1st.

HorribleTomato

Really? Oh gotta put that down. (4,4) as move 1?

HorribleTomato

Oops. Interesting!

HorribleTomato

No. That's different. 4,4 is indian, 5,4 is alkheine's (sorry for any mispelling)

hitthepin

Thanks for helping ry. I was right about to tell Tomato

HorribleTomato

Yeet

For the Scandinaviary: Tomato’s analysis on the line 2. (5,4)x(4,5) Qx(4,5) is true. However, this is not necessarily a forced line. White can decline the pawn, with something like 2. (5,5) or 2. N(3,3), or even the adventurous 2. Q(1,4). Although after 2. N(3,3) (4,4) might be good for black.

hitthepin

I think 2. (5,5) is the best line of the Scandinaviary. Although I could be wrong. Other people should also check.

HorribleTomato

(5,4) (4,5) (5,5)? (3,5) I think this looks pretty good for black.

hitthepin

I think White is OK after 3. (6,4) and a later N(6,3). He can get lots of play on the “Kingside”.

Also, I recommend you put the starting position in the first thread. Right now I’m trying to envision things from vickalan’s board in post 3. sad.png

HorribleTomato

Well, the queen can go down and make threats.

hitthepin

True true. Let’s see what other people think.

HEY EVERYONE! What do you think of the line 1. (5,4) (4,5) 2. (5,5) ?

HorribleTomato

1. (5,4) (4,5) 2. (5,5) (3,5) actually

hitthepin

Some people might think something else is better

HorribleTomato

No, I think white is better in normal chess.

Current theory after the HTP Defense is 2. N(3,3)

Also, I think renaming 1. (4,4) N(6,6) as the Indian is a good idea. Then we can base other openings off of the name “Indian”.

Nobody's played it yet to my knowledge...

What about 2. (5, 5)?

Well 2. N(3,3) is what Dobby played in our game.

If you play it, you get to name it. Right?
