Let's invent some very weird pieces

Sry. Thing that I needed to add. It cannot be captured until it is noticed( It captures a protected enemy piece/captures through an enemy piece's range). The enemy can try to move it and it has to obey or get noticed.

Moves like Rook and is worth 8 points.

Exclaimer: Captures like a cannon and moves like a rook. BUT...

It has to jump over a piece to move or capture In order to move or capture. to square A the distance from the exclaimer to the other piece has to be larger than the distance from the "other piece" to square A.

Interesting rule.

Can anyone test the King's Guard piece for me? I dont have the means to play a game in person at the moment. I am hoping that someone can test it for me and tell me how it performed in a real game. I would be very grateful!

(Knight) King’s Guard= Moves as a standard King. Captures as a standard Knight. King’s Guard protects the King from checkmate if the King is adjacent or 1 standard knight’s move away. *SHIELDED
Shielded Piece: Any piece which in addition to its normal powers, cannot be captured by direct attacks to its face/front. Face can only be rotated after moving.

Something like a 'pao' in chinese chess?

has anyone ever created a piece that when taking the piece in space rather causes it to lose or gain in time on the board. An example a N on f3 would have to go back to a previous square or continue on to another legal square. Does anyone know of fairy pieces that interact in terms of time on opponents pieces. thnx

What about a such piece queen that moves a maximum amount of squares based on the amount of pieces it captured? (1+x)

What would I call it? I honestly don't know.

Not sure. Imagine such a piece. Then a queen would move like a pawn at the start and is likely to get captured early in the game.

What happens if that queen captures 15 pieces then? Does it jump 16 squares?

The Shielded Knight. Moves like a Knight but is immune to capture from diagonal direction, so can only be taken from non-diagonal direction (e.g. by a normal Knight or a Rook). Other influences, like being made transparent by a Witch, can however take place from diagonal direction.

Stinky pawns-  any piece that captures a stinky pawn is overwhelmed by the wretched smell and unable to move for the next two turns.

Drag queen-  the king gets to move like a queen for one move during the game.

Mage: can leap up to 4 squares horizontally or vertically. Cannot capture, but can also move to his position up to 3 moves before and translate any friendly piece on a square 1 square orthogonally.

Last moves of mage is white. He can move to c6,b6,a6,d7,d8,f6,g6,h6,d5,d4,d3,d2 or e2. Also he can translate any knight to d5,c6 or d7 or translate king to c6 (that king can move to c6!).

Mage doesn't moved last 3 moves, so 1.Mc7 Bd7 2.Mg7 Rxb1 3.Rg8 Rc1 4.Mc3 and Black can't do anything to prevent checkmate!

Straightknight can jump through pieces just like knights, but they jump in a straight direction. For example, a knight on b1 can jump to b3 or d1. They don't affect squares that they jumped in between their move. Straghtknights have no possibility of exchange.
Priests move like bishops except that they can only move to a maximum extent of two squares away from their starting point. Rook 2.0 moves like a rook but can only move to a maximum extent of four squares away from starting point. Soldiers (pawns) move normally except that they don't have an ability to move two squares in front of them when still at the second rank.

And the craziest: The empress.
The empress moves like a queen but has special powers. It can "move two times" at one turn, but that is limited. The extent of the empress when "moving two times" is three squares away from the starting position (three emperor/king moves) For example, You play Qd1-c2-e4, and that takes three squares to reach. Illegal moves such as Qd2-a5 (It takes four squares) are strictly prohibited. The original version of the empress is very crazy, as it can take seven squares/seven king moves when doing the two-move rule but I assumed that the first player will get the advantage so it's reduced.

This variant is called "Stupid Chess."
Also, stupidity is added by implementing the rule black to move first. Other classical laws of chess apply. King is called Emperor. That's just the change.
Candidates: Allow priests to move like knights (they can really go through pieces except when diagonally moving)
Allow straitknight to have the power to move like a king but can't capture in that way nor not allow the opponent's emperor to move to the square in front of the straightknight. It increases the possibility of a straightknight exchange.

Any other suggestions please????

Interesting

QueenCon

I have come up with a scandalous new peice:

The Necromancer

Movement:

Same as the king

Capture:

N/A

Special:

The Necromancer is a slow moving yet cunning piece, it works by rewarding you of your lost pieces. The Necromancer can place a skeleton (more in it below) for every lost piece. In a game with necromancers every-time a piece in your army is captured you get +1 Nec point, every time you place a skeleton, you get -1 Nec point. Placing a skeleton loses a move like in bug-house, but you can only place skeletons around adjacent pieces on open squares. The necromancer can be captured normally and if it dies then all of the skeletons on its team also fade away.

Skeleton:

Movement:

can move 1 square diagonally in any direction

Capture:

Can only capture the square directly in front

Special:

Can not check the king or cause checkmate

I want to try Necromancer and skeletons

Chess_Condor
I like the idea and how skeletons move and capture the reverse of pawns. Would be an interesting variant to try.
