Hello hitthepin, I have created our game here.

josephyossi

Yes hitthepin, I watched your games but I kinda need a ,little bit of help though sad.png

@josephyossi, what do you need help with? Is it understanding the piece moves, or is it how to specify the game notation?

hitthepin
Don’t worry: let’s just say I’m not the best bulldog player here. Yet.
hitthepin
Or, yeah. Infinite.

Specify notation

vickalan

Ok, to specify a move, just identify the piece by its letter (B=Bishop, N=knight, G=Guard, C=chancellor, H=Hawk, etc.). Pawns are "P" or you can omit the letter for pawns.

Then, you just identify the destination of the move in (x,y) coordinates. Always identify the file (x) before the rank (y). In the example below, the bishop moved to (6,4) so the designation is:

B(6,4).

Other moves in the example are:
(-2,3) one pawn.
(4,3) the other pawn.
R(-4,1) the rook.
C(8,3) the chancellor.

null

Just be careful, because most files and ranks aren't labelled so you have to count them. It can also be tricky when pieces go off the displayed area (but moves to any location are allowed). Also be careful when moving to negative files and ranks.

Also, one more tip: when moving a bishop, you always add or subtract the same number to both x and y. For example the bishop moved (3) squares diagonally:

x coordinate: 3 + (3) = 6
y coordinate: 1 + (3) = 4
So its new square is (6,4).

Let me know if this is explained well enough or if anything is still confusing. This is infinite chess, so there may be situations that might still be confusing. But I hope it's simple enough that players can focus on the game, and not worry about notation.shock.png

Btw, evert823 is the "creator" of the rules for the witch, which I believe was first used on these forums about a year ago. Here is an updated diagram, which helps clarify that a witch only helps her own army. From an earlier post, "The witch can move like a queen (orange lines), and jump two squares in any direction or like a knight (orange dots). The witch cannot capture. The witch is transparent to friendly pieces, and she makes all adjacent pieces (inside yellow dotted line) transparent to friendly pieces, so for example the white rook attacks the queen."

Hi

i’m looking for an opponent to play a game or two of Musketeer Chess but using the new pieces currently under development. I’m also naturally open to any rule concerning the new pieces we agree on priori the game.

Currently I’m playing a game vs @Ebinola

The Witch idea is very interesting and I will think about this idea and probably adapt it to my Wizard. It’s too fairy in its current status and I will certainly customise it for a more classic but still fairy way.

May I play with you?

Who wants to play one more game of Bulldog chess?

Me!
