New Chess Variant... Actually, More Like A Variant Of A Variant

How is the order?
- Red, Blue, Green, Yellow?
- Red, Green, Yellow, Blue?
- Something Else?
Also who gets what color? Since I'm on the black team (Yellow & Blue), I Would Like Blue.

I'd say the order should be:
bottom left -> top left -> bottom right -> top right
I would have put the colors in different places, but that does not really matter much. The order with the current setup would be:
yellow -> green -> blue -> red

Ok, I'll Fix it So That The Order Would Be Blue>Red>Green>Yellow.
I'll Also Add Icons Signifying Who's Turn It Is.

I started from my 3 experiences with Infinite Chess when we played the variant with the Griffon and Falcon. There it was possible to develop an opening strategy with a rapid backyard attack. With the current starting position I don't see a direct possibility for such an opening.
But that doesn't matter, because the game also offers enough challenges to develop new concepts for the opening. So I agree, we can start the game and "Infinitife Chess - The Battle of Morgarten" is a very funny idea, also because I live only 10 kilometers away from Morgarten. So I hope that our team will find an unexpected new tactic in the one that lives up to the name of the game.
That is funny you live so close to Morgarten. According to Wikipedia, this is a brief summary of the battle: "The Swiss, led by Werner Stauffacher, defeated the Austrians, who were under the command of Duke Leopold I. The Swiss victory consolidated the Everlasting League of the Three Forest Cantons, which formed the core of modern Switzerland". Maybe it's a good omen for your side of this game (bad for Luke_Hands and me).
I never finished the board yet - just one more army to do. I can't work on it again until late today. If anyone wants to finish it's fine. Please don't adjust or change the size of the squares - this is designed to be "stitched" to more board if needed.
Also, please reply if any other changes are needed. I'm wondering what other color arrangement might have been better (and why)? We can still change if there is a better option.

Also, here are the pieces (thanks again to Martin0 for adding the color). I simplified the file a little. This has the "light" version (white pieces converted to color) of all four armies shown on both light and dark squares. It has every piece we need (but not more).

I like the order red -> blue -> yellow -> green. It is the same order used in 4 player chess. And also the order seen in some games. But really, it is just a preference thing, it does not matter much.

Also your welcome regarding the pieces. I just couldn't stand watching those squares that had the wrong color.

For some reason on the Wii, It's Blue > Red > Green > Yellow.
I Was Using That Order, But I'll Change It To Red > Blue > Yellow > Green.
Just Note, It'll Take longer.

Staying the same as existing (normal) 4-player chess might be a good idea, but it's not important to me. I won't worry about it either way. I do agree this is the best move order (diagram below). Either @hitthepin or @McGoohan (White) goes first (let me know your team's preference). Then our team (@Luke_Hands: would you like to play first or second for "Black")?
I will be out for most of today. If everything is in good order I'll start the opening thread for the game either late tonight or early tomorrow.

In games think blue and red are common for player 1 and player 2, while green and yellow are common for player 3 and player 4. There are some variations and I got a bit surprised when I looked it up since I thought the order super smash bros uses was very common. Anyway, the real argument is that red -> blue -> yellow -> green is used in 4 player chess.

I am politically very clear on the left and I also like to take the colour YELLOW🎗as the current symbol of the independence movement of Catalonia.✌️
