Hello,
Your input to the following uneasy question would be highly valuable. (This is to aid my variant in development; since I may not have thought it well-through before posting it.)
If a 3rd player (Red) were to take random turns inbetween Black and White to move or place a random red piece (Red pawn, Knight, Bishop, Rook, Queen or King) on the board, considering that he/she
1 - Has the capacity to capture both Black and White pieces
2 - Has the capacity to check/checkmate a King
3 - Can neither first place a piece onto a square that cause check/checkmate nor attack a major/minor piece (pawns ok)
4 - Cannot have more than two Red pieces on the board
what should be the minimum number of turns required of the 3rd "Red" player to wait before he/she allowed the option to make a random Red's turn ?
a) 3 regular player turns (black-white-black; white-back- white)
b) 5 regular player turns (black-white-black-white-black; white-black-white-black-white)
c) Something else
Food for thought:
- If 3rd player moves too often, he/she would be corrupted with too much power; considering that he or she could be placed on a square that aids check/checkmate/capture. (Even if, during Red's turn, Red cannot directly place a piece where it can attack another piece, other than pawns.) This is why I gave it this restriction, where it can't move inbetween every turn.
- The number of required moves for Red to wait should be odd, since even numbers causing Red to constantly make a move after every Black move or every White move might cause advantage/disadvantage for one player over the other.
