I dont think so, this is an unrated channel.

Lowrated chess players just naturally cant help as well as highrated ones.

If you're 6 years old and decide to focus on chess for the next 10-15 years, you have good chances.

no. you dont. and you never will have a 'good' chance. there are more than 600 million active chess platers in the world. less than 2,000 are GMs. Do the math.

I am fairly certain the vast majority of these 600 million active chess players havent actually made a serious attempt at becoming grandmaster.

How many of them started at preschool age, devoted their entire childhood and youth to becoming a GM and spent 6-8 hours daily with structured training? Now how many of those who did, managed to become a GM? Very little sample size, but we all know Lazlo Polgar's experiment: 2 out of his 3 daughters became GMs, the third WGM. Do the math.

You are right on the surface, but there is something wrong here: that "focus on chess" is the understatement of the century.

What you should've written instead is "play chess and study chess, with the help of master coaches, all day, every day for 10-15 years".

#18 what faulty logic lol

There are 6 million who play chess.
Maybe 4 million who actually want/try to be GMs

And how many start trying at 6? Not that many

To become a grandmaster you need to start early and study hard.

Somebody said recently there are more billionaires in the world than there are grandmasters.

Having the skills, determination and dedication to the study of chess is not enough. For most, it is the financial side that makes it difficult for most players. You need to have money to pay for your traveling expenses (hotel and food, etc.). For some, they get sponsorship but for those who do not, they have to pay on their own. And unless you are really a good player who has the potential to succeed, it’s unlikely you’ll get sponsorship.

1. Start chess early at around four yrs old. 2. Be in a family with a lot of wealth. 3. Hire a chess coach that is at least nm level from the beginning at 4 to teach. 4. Study chess 8 hrs a day every day, I don't mean playing. 5. Have a gift for chess from a early age basically already have a incredible gift of board vision from a early age. The money issue is a huge issue to ever getting to GM level. Hard work alone won't be enough.

Yeah money is a problem.

The three greats of chess, Bobby Fischer, Garry Kasparov and Magnus Carlsen all started between 5 and 7, and had coaches from the very start.

Becoming a Grandmaster requires years of dedication, practice, and learning from top-level competition to master every aspect of the game.

Sacrifice any chance of having a normal life that you may have and devote all your spare time to chess.

Has anyone over the age of 50 ever achieved GM for the first time?
Sololevelingsirjohn

Don't think, so.
