True. Maybe they devoted their entire lives to chess that they now find themselves unemployable elsewhere.
I envy them for making chess a career, I have to admit I like Eric Hanson a lot, I share his rage/anger management issues 
. He is very hard on himself when he blunders.

They have made chess seem like a cool lifestyle. They are probably not as good as their legend or image implies, but I have seen some amazing performances. One time a guy was trying to beat Aman playing 10 second chess. Aman mated the guy in under 10 seconds for like 10 games. That's some fast thinking.

Their humour does tend to be college level, which quickly gets a bit stale. I can't say I hate any of them though. Hate's a pretty strong word to use, and I can't say that they affect me to such an emotionally significant degree. I like to watch them play chess, also against weaker opponents, because it's insightful to watch masters beat amateurs. Beyond that, I don't care that much for the personality they bring to the scene.
