Ummm no, it is not a part of the name, it has a checkmark and is green, as if it has been verified by chess.com
What categorizes a club as "Official"?

I think it’s like clubs related either to chess.com directly or one of their partners
I guess but there are plenty of clubs that seem to just be big clubs, without any contact with chess.com. I could be wrong

Nope we’re too lazy!
Go to https://www.chess.com/clubs/find if you do not know what I am talking about. A considerable amount of clubs have the words "official" next to the club name.
Not all of them are under the direct ownership or control of chess.com, not even a moderator or staff for that matter.
What makes a club "official"?
It's probably just part of the name
