If we get to 1000 by the end of the school year, then the next 5 people to join will get promotions along with the most active and involved people in our community.
I don't think there is alot of value in giving 5 people promotions who join after 1000. Here is why:
Person 1: Oh what they give promotion to the 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005 person? Then i will join this when there are 1000 members.
Person 2: Oh what they give promotion to the 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005 person? Then i will join this when there are 1000 members.
Person 3: Oh what they give promotion to the 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004, 1005 person? Then i will join this when there are 1000 members.

next 5 members from now on is what i ment and they will only get promotions if we get 1000 members before the end of the school year

ok then but what if you don't get to 1000 members? then those 5 guys will just leave.
then you will have 5 power hungry people promoted for no reason

it is a natural process, the club with players who use the french defense has 200+ members, or more. how did they do it? Their club is named after an opening, And players who play that opening joined the club.
