10 minutes blitz or rapid?

same for me. I can't play blitz, it's automatically on "rapid" mode

OK, case closed. Too bad for all of the statistics accumulated in the "blitz" category...

Apparently a big online chess site is quite happy to just screw over people's ratings after all then!  I don't know how many 10|0 games I've played but it was my 'usual' time control and they all counted as Blitz and now on a whim they make them count as Rapid from some arbitrary time!  Once you make a decision what category different game speeds are in at the start it should stay that way for future, otherwise everyone's ratings just become irrelevant.

Nothing is going to change as our play of style matters only not the blitz rating or rapid rating.

If your play-style suits 10 min then only the rating of blitz will have a shift to your rapid rating else if your play-style suits 20 min, 30 min then only 10 min additional category will not have much impact on rapid rating. Only large pool of 10 min blitz  player had to adjust to either 3 min, 5 min, 5/5 min Or continue to play in 10 min in rapid rating.

You joined the site 6 months after the question was even asked!  When it was asked 10 minutes had been classified as Blitz for the last 10 years.  Then someone had a whim and it became Rapid.

Under USCF rules 10min is blitz as well.

fide and uscf say it's blitz.  chess.com used to say it's blitz then changed it to rapid.  i don't really care what they call it but i think it messes up stats.

i don't care all that much about stats either but the site bothers to produce a lot of stats and they are messed up by the change at least if 10 min is your favorite time control.  progress or regression in rapid or blitz are affected a lot by the change--enough that you can't see the trend if there is one.

overall it's disappointing.
