The number of players ranked in online chess is 356,979. That is much less than 7.000.000, but still a lot of players.
There are also players that do not play online chess and will appear only in the statistics of bullet or blitz or chess960. I am wondering how many current accounts chess.com has. Does anyone know?
But this was people in Live chess being online, not playing Online chess (pretty confusing)

In continental Europe... In Britain, it's also 18,404 to mean 18+ thousand. I teach English in Europe (continental), and have to mention this point.

I suppose. Chess.com is growing I think. The year before I saw 15 or 16.000 people online. I'd love to see some 'official' stats about this.
