30 minute games are the best time control

10 minute feels too fast and 30 minute it actually helps you actually THINK of moves

So you want to sit down and be like “alright time to play a nice relaxing chess game” then sit there for 5 minutes to make a dumb move then wait 5 more minutes till the other person goes and end up resigning because the other person took too long

15+10 is enough time for you to be able to think carefully. 30 min is way too long

I'm not disputing your opinion. The OP stated their preference. You responded with your preference. Both are valid because, as the saying goes, "Taste and comfort are personal."

Just want to point out that a 30 min game is only 38% longer than a 15 + 10 game at move 40. Is that way longer? Seems only slightly longer.

The bad thing about 30/0 is the endgame with no increment

I used to play 30 minute rapid games only. The majority of the time, I would never use more than 15, even in long games. Now though, 15+10 is more than enough time. I promise you will be fine there. Eventually when they add classical, 30 minutes would be a good time limit. If you're still debating, play a few games and add up your average time per move. 15+10 gives ample amount of time for good games.
