Not a good idea. People should never be free to use vulgar language, or be encouraged to do so.

'Vulgar' language is only frowned upon because of people like you.  If it is used intelligently, there should be no problem with it, just like any of the other words that compliment and add to the English language.

To ascertain vulgar language can be used intelligently sir is somewhat void of intelligence. Like expressed anger, such language is a 'form of public littering.' (Mark Twain?)

Vulgarity isn't necessarily coupled with a lack of intelligence; it just usually is.

We don't need another cyber sex group on chess.com, I already have one here.

 Ahh Ha!

I would also like to be invited to this group as well.  I would like to be able to speak to someone however I choose to.

theking511

this group is retarded. all you do is talk about so called """"Adult content"""" instead of playing chess. isn't the purpose of chess.com groups to play chess as a team. why don't you go join a porn site of some adult content site if you want to talk about """"Adult content"""".

i have created the group now and it has nothing to do with sex as ur filthy mind would suggest!!! We DO play chess as iv already set up the first vote chess match!! As soon as we get more members joining i will then be creating even more chess matches between us and other teams / groups!! the ONLY difference is that members will NOT be reprimanded for occasional swearing as most other groups would do!!

I couldn't disagree more.

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the droves of people who average 20 curse words in a sentence.  I'm talking about use, in moderation, not directed at anyone, of so-called 'vulgar' words just as they were intended to be used: to express something in a way that no other phrasing accomplishes as well (or as simply).

Children talk dirtier than adults, you know.

blackfirestorm

I think an "adults only" chess group would be less about chess and more about.. well "adults only" stuff :p

This is not a cyber sex site.

Sex isn't the only adult topic in the world.  Some people might be interested in an 'adults only' setting to avoid juvenile topics.

That said, enforcement would be more trouble than it's worth.

I think ANY bad language should be only used in one official group for 21 and over, and NOWHERE ELSE.

While I certainly respect the choice of blackfirestorm, I must say I'm disappointed at the overwhelming attitude that says that people under 25 (or even 21) can't be mature posters, involved in 'adult' discussions.  Especially given that, you know, I am an adult.

i am so sorry that u think i am implying that u r not mature ... i dont know u. all im saying is that for me to let u in would imply that i am willing to let ANY player under 25 and well not every 19 year old is as mature as others?!
