Cheating is really unnecessary - win or lose it really does not matter

but a lose is no great shakes. What I object to is those who will not chat
Perhaps the idea of some sort of icon next to their names might be a help but even then - they may well have learnt their lesson and consideration could be given to removing such an icon after a period. Cheat again and your out. A change of user name and a new account may well styme such a move, but the experts should be able to sort this out. An experts as we all know is. Someone purposely making multiple accounts to cheat games from fair players would need to be banned because the symbol doesn't work as a deterrent. It circumvents the symbol to protect fair players from the cheaters.

No no, the cheater mark should be only for people using computer engines in games, not those creating multiple accounts.

I think that if chess.com just puts an icon next to the cheater's handle, it will attract more people to use conputer engines. You do realize how difficult it can be to figure out if somebody is cheating or not? Also, imagine how hard it would be to figure this out for 10,000 people. O_O I think people SHOULD be banned for cheating. Why cheat? What do you gain out of it? Does it make you happy because you beat somebody? (By cheating, so you really didn't beat them.)
If you want to go cheat, just go to ICC. (I think they allow cheaters, but make them play seperately.)

Aren't people with multiple accounts currently banned for cheating? Having the symbol would change that. Having multiple accounts would only incur a symbol, unless it is used to cheat people of a fair game. Those that use multiple accounts to cheat people of a fair game would be banned, since as i stated, it circumvents the symbol.
I think if the symbol was to be used at all, cheaters wouldn't be allowed to play any games except against those they've befriended. They also wouldn't be allowed in tournaments, vote chess games, and team matches.
If they make friends, it should mention that they're a cheater. If they become a cheater after befriending others, a message would be needed to sent to them. Another reminder might be necessary before starting a game with a cheater.

But the cheater label should be be for people actually caught cheating, not for joking about cheating.
If joking about it breaks some rule, then fine, take the appropriate action, but a ban with a cheater label? That's a bit much......
I don't think they ban you for joking, rooperi. They could close your account if you are too wild, but they wouldn't put your name on the cheating list in that case.

You think they had the time for a proper analysis and evaluation before banning? Especially if he was cheating for the odd move it would be impossible to tell.

Actually Kohai said the games were checked, but if he was cheating for the odd move here and there you wouldn't spot it. If more then it's very strange they can ban him in half hour yet others take a couple of years and then get banned.
