Because it's a book draw.
White's king will go to the promotion square and stop the pawn while white's rook keep checking the black king.

Anand sacs a pawn, and barely survived Carlsens crushing defence. One bullet dodged for Vishy.
Kirsan must be fuming at all the attention Kasparov is getting. It's like he's royalty. But, seeing as I have no idea how FIDE elections work, I'm not sure if any of this is meaningful.
If Kasparov becomes a problem, Kirsan can have him taken out.
