I play anonymously on a different chess platform to practice without hurting my elo on Chess.com and avoid damaging my image. Does anyone else do this, or just me? Should I care if my elo goes down on Chess.com? Do good players avoid you if you have a low elo? I’m trying to get a chess reputation. I hope to be a prominent player someday.

We all want to improve and it is natural to use the rating as a measure of your progress.

But you haven't played a game here in nearly two years. I think that is taking it too far.

The ratings here are only really useful for helping you to get good matches.
