Any evidence or clues 2 support or declare this a possibility?

For some religions we will be very busy with little girls or guys (I read the term Uri, but didn't check which sex they had) maybe depending on individual tastes, plus all those  70 virgins to introduce to the ... well maybe introduce is not the right verb, but in any case after all that work, we would be too tired to play chess.

This is great...I'd never have the gall to post a thread like this, simply due to so many different beliefs regarding the afterlife.

I actually just had this conversation with a friend the other day.  With both of us being stong believers in reincarnation, and chess being so old (what, six thousand years arguably?) my take is, those that have come and gone (and come again), also could not part with it so easily.

May sound crazy to some, but I can imagine an afterlife where chess is played regularly by many beings.

God, being omniscient, would have a big advantage. He'd know what our plans were the whole game:)

You may be right...

I'd recently wiki'd it, and remembered the number 6 was in there somewhere...now after looking it up again, the number 6 I'd remembered was actually the 6th century AD...not 6,000 years.

my bad.

Now there's an amazing concept.

Queen_of_Knight

So 1500 years or so.

Do you ever wonder if our life is just one infinite combination?

AndyClifton

Not sober. Smile

Queen_of_Knight

I think this thread should shed light on the history of chess, lol.

johnmusacha

Yeah not sober either, but here is a memorable clip, probably the memorable clip from the 1979 film Love at First Bite

If the symbol for infinity resembles the number 8 and 8 multiplied by itself is 64, that's 8 squares times 8 squares for 8 squared.

If the units are squares, that's a chessboard with 64 squares.

If energy equals mass times the speed of light multiplied by itself,

then the "moves" themselves are interchangeable with the time it takes to make them...

If there are infinite possible variations of moves, then there is infinite energy to make them.

If there is infinite energy to make each possible variation,

then infinite variations of moves made continue even "after life".

If there are infinite variations of chess moves made to continue in the afterlife,

then there is chess is in the afterlife.

One infinite continuation.

lol.

One infinite winning combination.

Example even while editing this post as another variation was quoted before continuation could be corrected to winning combination.
