Today I'm mainly matching with opponents that either abort the match or resign before moving, and I don't have the option to abort matches. How do I tell if I'm in the bad sportsmanship group?

If you don't have an abort option you are flagged by the Sportsmanship Policy.

Why does this happen? Shouldn't the person who aborted be flagged, why will the other person be flagged too?

This has happened to me once too.

If a member aborts/disconnects too often as a percentage of completed games then they can get restricted. The absence of an abort option in regular challenges, means that member has been flagged under the sportsmanship policy.

I try to only abort matches where I lagged on joining. Usually I'm already down seconds joining a bullet game. How do I tell when I've left the group?

You'll have the abort option in games.
