You can create a daily challenge with a custom position or a book opening. A book opening game can be a rated game. A custom position game can only be unrated.

My dashboard for daily chess looks slightly different in comparison to the article is this because I'm using the free version?

If you select a daily time control (1 day, 3 day, ...), do you see a "SETUP" setting?

I would like to know if there is an option like lichess.org > tools > board editor to set up my chessboard, and then it could allow me to play with a friend or computer/bot I could not find it on chess.com. I need to teach some tactics to my daughter; she is living in another country, or if anyone knows a similar tool, please let me know.
I appreciate any help you can provide.
