I mean 900 is not very high and it's not surprising to see a 900 rated player fall for the englund gambit trap. It being blitz probably also contributed.

i battle 400 elo bullet players and they dont fall for it

Please note the ratings:
Basically the same game, except there were 2 different possible checkmates.

I'd probably fall into it. I don't know much opening theory, just mainly go on general strategy & low level calculation in the openings.

If you dont think you cam fall for every trap! Only OTB players think every move. Online players prefer to use engines or to play bullet roulette

Honchkrowabcd

900s don't even know how the pieces move, they just pick up random pieces and try forcing them to random squares until one of their moves is legal

900s blunder like crazy. Of course they would fall for gambits.

The englund gambit trap is really only refuted by Qd5 (Stockholm Variation) or Bg5 attacking the queen. So yes, a 900 would likely fall for that trap.

I don't know what rating is my rating (rapid or blitz) , But even if I say that I'm 1100 for my rapid still it's just 200 points better than 900

Maybe players who don't know the opening traps fall into it, not based on rating . My friend was 800 and could find all my mistakes and play better than me. A lot of players don't know the traps
