As someone who bought it, no.

you may not be making the best use of your diamond membership.

@ntzt has done much more than you have.

I used to have diamond membership for about a year.

The lessons are good for those below 1200. But they are basically “lol, here is fork. Can you see knight fork in this puzzle.” Just weak videos that are almost patronizing in how easy they are and how many hints they give. The lessons are only moderately better than Chessvibes/Gotham, and I won’t repeat my opinions of them.

Overall, I’ve found books and other sites better. As far as instructional vids, GingerGM and Hanging Pawns are worth my time. Books are more expensive than a membership, but at least I feel I’m getting something for my money.

Your arrogance and delusions are going to keep you from improving.

have you tried the ones in the mastery section? I haven't looked at anything outside of mastery. You can try the "improve your technique" one which is my personal favorite. I really don't think that 1200s are going to be learning about the intricacies of the carlsbad structure.

He is just completely delusional. There are tons of educational content for almost anyone. Certainly someone at the 1600 rapid level like him. But he thinks he is above it all.

well the no ads part is not worth it bc we can just use adblocker.

and the lessons are trash.

nah

I did 2 of them and they were both not helpful,

and the dumb 1 lesson a week is stupid, just a way for them to grab money.

Well I've done much more than two of them and they most certainly were helpful. Most all of their opening lessons are quite good as are a lot of the strategy ones. How well you're able to integrate said lessons into your games is not part of the chess.com lessons.

easy for those who aren't running the world's largest chess site with branches in multiple countries to say.

but why would I pay to do more than one lesson a week when I can go somewhere called youtube.com

IMKeto

A diamond membership is just like a book, video, or coach.  They are tools to improvement.  It is up to you to actually use the tools to improve.

1. I can find other free websites for that.  2. Why do I need chess skills anyway, it's just a game.

Your arguments are so bad... of course you don't need Chess skills. It's a fun hobby that some people choose to invest in. The question here is whether Chess.com diamond membership is worth it.

I did the free trial a year ago and was amazed by the lesson quality and then did a year of it... it's expensive as hell but I found some of those lessons to be a gold-mine if you aren't lazy. There are so many that you can find that aren't available at first. The puzzle style ones by Jeremy Silman are beyond educational. Some are quite challenging as well.

There are lots of other easier lessons that I found helped my game a lot as well. The quality of these as well as their interactive presentation makes them much better than just watching a youtube video - at least in my opinion.

I think there are loads of good resources on the internet and one does not need to spend money. But I love Chess and I think it's worth it to sometimes spend some money on it as it feels great to improve and learn new things.

Don't let people force you into things you don't enjoy. Worse, don't join a forum and try to ruin the fun for others by spreading negativity when you clearly don't enjoy the game.

Chess is great, but don't let anyone force you to play it.

well it's not boring in some modes, also I wasn't trying to ruin the fun, this was a form about how bad diamond membership is.
